Our Venue
Constantly improving our venue (L to R): Pre-show for the first production in our venue, Separate Beds, in January 2024. Adding final touches to lighting/sound for Playhouse Smithville's Don't Rock the Jukebox in April 2024
This is how you build an arts center, inside and out.

The 100 block of W Austin Street in Giddings (L to R) c. 1910, c. 1920, and 2020.
Pieces of history (L to R): The Giddings Brothers gaze approvingly down on the venue from the original tin ceilings. The artist was Lexington's Johnny Jones. Johnny also designed the Henry Joekel mural paying homage to a previous building owner. C. Tscha legacy from 1938 remains on the walls for new visitors to discover.
Board Members and guests review plans and the historic structure that is home to the Lee County Center for the Arts.
We have a home at 115 W Austin Street in Giddings, thanks to a generous donation of the building from previous owners Chuck Crane and June Peterson. The building formerly housed A Blast from the Past. On the final final move-out day we said goodbye to the REO Speedwagon.
